Returns & Warranty

We build products to last and keep gifting simple. Below are our policies for manufacturing defects and how we handle exchanges and returns across belts, wallets, cash covers, and specialty goods.

Warranty – Manufacturing Defects

Two ways we cover you:

  • Defect on Arrival (DOA): If something is wrong when you open the box (damage in transit, mis-built item, missing hardware), report it within 72 hours of delivery. We’ll repair or replace at no cost and provide a prepaid label when applicable.
  • Manufacturing Defects (90 Days): If a defect appears during normal use within 90 days from delivery, contact us as soon as you notice it. After review, we’ll repair or replace at no cost.

What’s covered: Glue separation, stitch failure, faulty/broken hardware (snaps, buckles, Chicago screws), or structural flaws affecting function.

Not covered: Normal wear and patina, color bleed or fading, or damage from sun, water, chemicals, or misuse.

How to start: Email orders@jhleathers.com with your order number and clear photos. For DOA claims, include photos within 72 hours of delivery.

Variances in Exotic Skins & Color

Premium leathers and exotic skins are inherently unique. Dye absorption, scale pattern, texture, and finish will vary, and digital screens display color differently.

  • These natural and visual variances are not defects.
  • If your item seems materially different than expected, email orders@jhleathers.com for an atelier review.
Belts – Returns & Exchanges

Cut-to-Fit Belts (Standard)

25% restock sized at checkout · cut at home wrong 50% restock ≤ 35″
  • Uncut / Unworn (original 44″ length): Eligible for exchange toward equal or greater value (customer pays the difference on upgrades).
  • Cut-to-Fit (Sized at Checkout): Belts ordered to a chosen size and shipped pre-trimmed are subject to a 25% restocking fee if returned, even if unworn.
  • Cut at Home: If trimmed incorrectly at home, returns are accepted with a 25% restocking fee.
  • Small Sizes:  Any belt cut to 35″ or smaller is subject to a 50% restocking fee if returned.
“Uncut / Unworn” defined: Belt remains at the original 44″ length with fold tab, screws, and keeper as shipped; no creasing at holes, no buckle impressions or bending; original packaging presentable.
White Glove Service: Available only on select Cut-to-Fit belts as a sizing-assurance option. Once the belt is cut and reassembled in our atelier, it’s considered customized and is final sale, except for qualifying manufacturing defects.

Cut-to-Fit Belts with Custom Stitch

Applies only to select American alligator colors: Black, Navy, Sky, Cognac, Grey.

  • Cut and stitched to order; final sale unless defective.

Custom Builds (Made-to-Order / Bespoke)

  • Built to your exact selections: Custom builds are made to the exact size, width, edge, tip style, and stitch color chosen at checkout.
  • Customer responsibility: If any option is ordered incorrectly (size, width, stitch, edge, tip), returns are accepted with a 25% restocking fee, must be unworn.
  • Special finishes: One-off custom colors or Cash Covers produced from specially purchased skins are final sale unless defective.
Wallets, Cash Covers & Card Cases
  • Included: Wallets, money clips, cash covers, card cases.
  • In-Stock (Essentials): Any unused, in-stock item may be returned for store credit.
  • Custom CC: Custom pieces may be returned if defective, or with a 25% restocking fee when unused and in original condition.
  • Condition: Items must be unused with no signs of wear and include original packaging.
Limited Editions & Specialty Goods

From time to time, we release limited runs of specialty products (e.g., wallets, valuables pouches, shoe bags, yardage books).

  • Defects: Covered by our standard warranty—repair or replacement at no cost.
  • Returns: Unless noted at purchase, these follow the same policy as belts/CC (25% restocking fee if unused and in original condition).

Exclusions

  • AJ1 sneakers: Final sale, no returns, except for manufacturing defects.
  • Monogrammed or personalized items: Final sale, no returns, except for manufacturing defects.
How to Start a Return or Warranty Claim
  1. Email orders@jhleathers.com with your order number.
  2. For Defect on Arrival, include clear photos within 72 hours of delivery.
  3. For manufacturing defects within 90 days, include photos and describe how the issue appeared during normal use.
  4. For returns or exchanges, confirm condition (unused, uncut/unworn, or cut). Photos help us review faster.
  5. Restocking fees: Depending on the product and condition, a 25% or 50% restocking fee may apply (see belt and custom build policies above).
  6. Once reviewed, we’ll provide next steps — including a prepaid return label when applicable.
Quick Summary
  • Warranty (manufacturing defects): 90 days from delivery; covers glue separation, stitch failure, and faulty/broken hardware. Wear, sun/water damage, and color variation are not covered.
  • Defect on Arrival (DOA): Issues present at delivery must be reported within 72 hours; prepaid label provided.
