Returns & Warranty

We build products to last and keep gifting simple. Below are our policies for manufacturing defects and how we handle exchanges and returns across belts, wallets, cash covers, and specialty goods.

Warranty – Manufacturing Defects

Two ways we cover you:

  • Defect on Arrival (DOA): If something is wrong when you open the box, report it within 72 hours of delivery. We’ll repair or replace at no cost and provide a prepaid label when applicable.
  • Manufacturing Defects (90 Days): If a defect appears during normal use within 90 days from delivery, contact us promptly. After review, we’ll repair or replace at no cost.

What’s covered: Glue separation, stitch failure, faulty/broken hardware (snaps, buckles, Chicago screws), or structural flaws affecting function.

Not covered: Normal wear and patina, color bleed/fading, or damage from sun, water, chemicals, or misuse.

Variances in Exotic Skins & Color

Premium leathers and exotic skins are inherently unique. Dye absorption, scale pattern, texture, and finish will vary; screens also render color differently.

  • Such variances are not defects.
  • If your item seems materially different than expected, email orders@jhleathers.com for an atelier review.
Belts – Returns & Exchanges
Holiday Gift Returns: To accommodate seasonal gifting, any eligible purchase made between November 1 – December 25, {{ current_year }} must have its return or exchange initiated within 14 business days after December 25. This extension ensures recipients have ample time to confirm sizing and fit.

Cut-to-Fit Belts (Standard)

All returns are subject to a restocking fee percentage based on length — 25% for 36″ and larger 50% for 35″ and shorter
  • Uncut / Unworn (44″ original length): Eligible for exchange toward equal or greater value (customer pays difference on upgrades).
  • Cut-to-Fit (Sized at Checkout): Subject to the above restocking policy if returned, even if unworn.
  • Cut at Home: Belts trimmed at home are not eligible for return or exchange. All home-cut belts are final sale.
  • Small Sizes: Any belt cut to 35″ or smaller follows the 50% restocking fee policy.
Return Window: All returns on new purchases must be initiated within 14 business days of delivery.

Cut-to-Fit Belts with Custom Stitch

Applies only to select American alligator colors: Black, Navy, Sky, Cognac, Grey.

  • Cut and stitched to order; final sale unless defective.

Custom Builds (Made-to-Order / Bespoke)

All returns are subject to a restocking fee percentage based on length — 25% for 36″ and larger 50% for 35″ and shorter
  • Built to your exact selections: Made to the exact size, width, edge, tip style, and stitch color chosen at checkout.
  • Customer responsibility: If any option is ordered incorrectly (size, width, stitch, edge, tip), returns are accepted only if unused and subject to the policy above.
  • Special finishes: One-off custom colors or Cash Covers produced from specially purchased skins are final sale unless defective.

Wallets, Cash Covers & Card Cases
  • Included: Wallets, money clips, cash covers, card cases.
  • In-Stock (Essentials): Any unused item may be returned for store credit.
  • Custom CC: Custom pieces may be returned if defective or with a 25% restocking fee when unused and in original condition.
Return Window: All returns must be initiated within 14 business days of delivery.
Limited Editions & Specialty Goods

From time to time, we release limited runs of specialty products (e.g., wallets, valuables pouches, shoe bags, yardage books).

  • Defects: Covered by our standard warranty — repair or replace at no cost.
  • Returns: Unless noted at purchase, follow belt/CC policy (25% restock if unused and in original condition).
Return Window: All returns on new purchases must be initiated within 14 business days of delivery.

Exclusions

  • AJ1 sneakers: Final sale, no returns except for defects.
  • Monogrammed or personalized items: Final sale, no returns except for defects.
